Education

A native of San Antonio, Mr. Chaires is a proud graduate of Central Catholic High School ('11) and the University of the Incarnate Word ('15), where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Government with minors in Criminal Justice and Philosophy. Thereafter, Mr. Chaires attended St. Mary's University School of Law, where he was a Staff Writer for The Scholar: St. Mary's Law Review on Race and Social Justice and a Student Attorney for St. Mary's Center for Legal and Social Justice. In 2018, Mr. Chaires graduated law school and passed the Texas Bar Exam.

Professional Experience

Mr. Chaires is an attorney at the San Antonio office of Ray Peña McChristian. As an experienced litigator, Mr. Chaires focuses his practice of law in civil litigation (defense), and his cliental includes private individuals, commercial entities, and insurance companies. More specifically, Mr. Chaires defends cases involving motor vehicle accidents, trucking accidents, slip and fall accidents, dram shop violations, catastrophic injuries, wrongful death, construction defects, and uninsured/underinsured motorist claims. Mr. Chaires also manages his own exclusive docket of Special Investigation Unit matters for one of the nation's largest Insurers.

Prior to joining Ray Pena McChristian, Mr. Chaires was an attorney at a civil litigation law firm in San Antonio, where he handled first- and third-party bodily injury lawsuits.

Honors and Distinctions

In 2020, Mr. Chaires was named a Board Member for the University of the Incarnate Word Alumni Association. As a Staff Writer for The Scholar: St. Mary's Law Review on Race and Social Justice, Mr. Chaires received Credit With Honors for his Comment on the expansion of Specialty Courts in Texas. Mr. Chaires is a recipient of the Bexar Country Felony Drug Court's Lady Justice Award for his exceptional volunteer work and commitment to helping those with severe substance abuse issues.
