Laura is beginning her legal career with Ray Peña McChristian, P.C. During law school, Laura gained broad legal experiences through internships with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Thirteenth Court of Appeals, and a physician-owned hospital in the Rio Grande Valley. These experiences exposed her to health law, appellate matters, and civil law, providing a solid foundation for her career and develop practical skills. In her last year of law school, Laura served as a student attorney for the Consumer Protection Clinic in the Center for Legal and Social Justice, where she handled landlord-tenant cases, worked one-on-one with clients, and prepared for and conducted hearings and mediation. In addition, Laura helped organize the third annual Lawtina Network Summit as Logistics Coordinator, where members of the legal community came to network and learn from Latinx judges and attorneys. Laura also participated in pro bono activities, serving the San Antonio/RGV communities in areas such as ID recovery and TRLA legal clinics.

Laura was born in the Dominican Republic, but raised in Mission, Texas. She is fluent in English and Spanish. She enjoys traveling, learning new recipes, Latin dancing, and spending time with friends and family.
